OR, THERE ...

Synopsis //

Janus appears, our wandering hero, arriving from who knows where, apparently going nowhere. He finds himself there, in front of this pedestrian crossing so banal and yet, he is no longer so sure of himself. It would be enough just to cross and ... it would be all over.

However, Là ... is a show that plays with the boundaries between the real and the unreal. A black and white universe inspired and expired from comics.

The Collectif du Plateau gives us its acrobatic gaze, a visual and sound elsewhere that has limits only where we decide to see it.

// Statement of intent

The imagination we have imbibed is that of the comic book series "Julius Corentin Acquefacques, prisoner of dreams" by author Marc-Antoine Mathieu .

This author, illustrator and screenwriter explores a black and white universe inspired by Borges and Kafka , where space and time are two primordial factors and which he plays to guide his characters in stories that often go beyond them.

He also questions urban space and matter in scenographic staging with the Lucie Lom workshop.

The costumes were designed to give the impression that the characters come out of a drawn universe, black lines on a white background ... For this we worked with Charlotte Pareja, costume designer (Cie Arcosm, Cie Les Choses de Rien, Cie la Baraka, Opéra Comique ...) and Sara Sandqvist (CirkVOST artist).

We called on Lorraine Brochet and Barnabé Gautier from the company Bruital to explore the sound aspect of the show and the link between sound and gestural matter. To guide us in the final stages of creation, we were accompanied by Camille Richard from the Lezartikal company.

"Or, là .." is a show for the public space in duet and bi-frontal, being played in the middle of the street, around a pedestrian crossing.

Acrobatic lifts serve the moment, movement and narration, in a black and white universe , dreamlike and absurd.

With this show, we want to push our desire to create a whole form, a whole between the space, the audience and the performers.

The idea is therefore a mirrored show, a face-to-face meeting of artists but also of spectators , during which the world around him will lead the main character on a journey that goes beyond him.

Synopsis //

Five crazy fanatics, superhuman, doped with circus and color, are the heroes of a life-size comic, where anything can happen.
With their exuberances, their tics, their tocs and their sweet follies, they share a cartoony and gently absurd daily life.
Forget all kind of logic and leave the grayness! In this shiny world, always on the verge of explosion, there is no such thing as too much! So when the outside world comes into existence, they feel in danger ...
Because whatever may exist outside, the grass is rosier here!

Arthur is an 8 year old boy. He is in his room and observes the World through his window. Arthur wonders what he's seeing.

He asks himself questions that raise questions that arise on the ground.

It buries and destroys every unanswered question deep down,

where we forget them so as not to think about them too much.

Except that there are too many and it ends up overflowing.

Arthur then sets off to discover his “PoïPoï”, all these bits of him that he has left aside and which have become entangled, mixed, kneaded, mixed during all these years. There he meets Bernard, a strangely bizarre character with strangely strange language.

It is in a universe inspired by the current "Dada", a world made of paper,

pop up, shadows, collages, photos, odds and ends

that Arthur goes to his own meeting, the one made up of his fears, his doubts, his laughter and his ridicule ... to open all the doors and

windows to his inner world.

"Do not imitate anything or anyone"

Victor Hugo

It was urgent for us to write for the children, to tell them that they have the right to be themselves, that a man can cry, that being angry and screaming, it feels good, that it does not no use being the best or the worst, that there is no one even better or worse than another, than jumping in a puddle of mud, you can also do it sitting down, or at five, that we can not put our elbows on the tables or the cables on the toubles, that the world does not revolve around his navel but rather around his left nipple, some even say around the sun but we do not know not if you really have to believe them, that you have to take care of each other, that God, in fact, is called Monique, that love is stronger than anything, except maybe humor which is stronger as Spiderman or Lady Bug.

We would like to tell them that we should put on a show with all that, for them and that even if we can't put everything in it, it's okay and we don't care, there will still be a little and it's already not bad.

// création improvisée en tournée

Synopsis //

When a juggler invests a space of freedom where improvisation is king and where the public is king, anything can happen. Mental, spatial and musical freedom draw the thread of a show that never unfolds in the same way .

Juggling without aiming for perfection is a 45-minute show offering juggled improvisations under various operating protocols . Performance oscillating between the one man show, the conference and a great discussion full of confidences. Here we juggle with balls, diabolos, the body, the universe and words.

// Statement of intent

You have to prepare the public for what they are going to see. Explaining what an improvisation is is ca-pi-tal. Explain that possibly nothing may happen. Possibly, it may not be interesting. Possibly, it could be blah. Possibly, that can be too fun. Possibly, it can be an incredible event that will continue to live beyond the show.

It is necessary to explain to the public that there is a real risk-taking in the undertaking of this unprepared adventure. Knowing this, the gaze placed on the artist and the improvised moment is different from that which one poses on a “standard” show. We don't watch an improvisation like we watch a written performance.

The goal being that a crowd, a mass of people, an artist, all look at the same place for a moment suspended without anyone knowing what will happen.

The audience and the artist create this moment together. The artist by his movement and his tools. The public by its attention and its energy that it sends back and that it gives to this moment of suspension. Without sharing, no beautiful moments, no response, no flop, no sincerity, no exploits, no sensitivity, no history, ...

Synopsis //

Paul Claudel

 Note d'intention //

Case

Maximum Quartet went through ...

Synopsis //

They are four.

They put themselves in uncontrollable situations.

They are fragile, human.

On a simple bar table, they impose a circus in a small space.

When a recorder that represents all their hopes breaks, when they look for each other without  find, when their body becomes unresponsive and begins to squeak without being able to stop, they become this  that they are: disproportionate.

Endlessly, they cling, cling to their precarious balance where the fall is never far away.  "Maximum Quartet" offers a circus that calls to the imagination by the setting in situation. Plateau balance,

burlesque madness, creaking devilishness or even

worn hectic, they will  invite to laugh and to tremble at the danger,

whether it is real or not.
